Developments in Turkey’s actions against the PKK shows that, in addition to narrowing the field to the PKK inside Turkey and the Kurdistan Region, PKK members in particular, its senior commanders abroad are no longer safe. Turkish media, including A.News, tweeted a photo of Isa Ozer, one of the PKK’s top commanders, in handcuffs and under the Turkish flag. He has been arrested and abducted by Turkish intelligence and security forces in the Ukrainian city of Odyssey.
Isa Ozer is in charge of the PKK for Eastern Europe that is the most important route of drug trafficking as its main source of funding. The headquarters of these smuggling activities are in Romania and Isa Ozer was traveling in this region between Russia, Ukraine and Romania.
