A Kurdish asylum seeker from the town of Salas Bawajani, in Kermanshah provinc, has died on the border between Belarus and Poland of frostbite.
According to a report received by IKHRW, on Monday, November 22, 2021, a 25-year-old asylum seeker, identified as Bakhtiar Musazadeh, from the town of Salas Babajani on the Belarusian-Polish border, died of frostbite.
Bakhtiar Musazadeh’s family was displaced to Iraq during the Iran-Iraq war, along with hundreds of other families, and settled in the Al-Tash camp in Ramadi province.
After the war, the family Musazadeh decided to remain in the Kurdistan Region, and settled in Sulaimaniyah.
According to the statistics registered, since the beginning of 1400, at least 7 Kurdish refugees from the cities of Kermanshah, Salas Bawajani, Marivan (3 cases) and Sardasht (2 cases) have died while going to Europe.
Two of them were women.
