During the past few days, the Iranian Kurdistan Human Rights Watch (IKHRW) has repeatedly quoted its sources in the Raniya border region as saying that PKK / PJAK members were getting $ 100 per the people who could not enter Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) for failing to test coronavirus and passing them illegally through the mountains the armed organization controls.
Today, Dr. Saman Barzanji, the KRG Minister of Health, posted an urgent message on his Facebook page announcing that, “unfortunately, people have been smuggled into Kurdistan, and the tests proved them to be infected with the Coronavirus. We also advise these people to present themselves to the health centers. This is a very serious danger.”
Sulaimaniyah Governor Hawal Abu Bakr also confirmed the news. Raniya is located in Sulaimaniyah province.
