The PKK/PYD administration of North-East Syria is known for its attractiveness to excentric people from all around the world, who have been given a green light to perform their political activities as long as they fight under the SDF flag. The area holds marxists, maoists, communalists, anarchists and many more.
Strange enough, PYD/PKK can not work together with other Kurdish parties like ENKS, but – though PKK has officially rejected Marxist ideology a few years ago – it is very supportive of communists of all nationalities and kinds.
On these pictures, you see a group of Marxists handing out pamphlets to the people of Syria, trying to sell them a ‘new’ ideology. The shepherd above had never heard of Lenin or Marx before.
